Hospital admissions have increased rapidly
Key Messages 3 rd to 9th January 2021
Average cases per day have levelled off at around 550 per day.
Test positivity has reduced slightly to around 23% which remains very high.
When full test data is available, the infection rate per 100,000 population is likely to be over 900 for the last 7 days.
Hospital admissions have increased rapidly in the last couple of weeks and there are now more people in hospital than in the first wave. Graph can be found on page 15 of the report
