First and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine are still available until 30 June. If you have not yet had your 1st or 2nd dose, you should book now to ensure you’ve had your 1st dose before 5 May so you that can get both jabs before the offer ends for most people on 30 June. Once you’ve had your 1st dose you need to wait at least 8 weeks before getting your 2nd dose of the COVID-19 vaccination.
Polio and MMR routine vaccinations for children aged 1 to 11
Public Health are starting their Polio phase 2 campaign informing people of the importance of Polio and MMR vaccinations. To keep your child safe, it is important to follow the childhood immunisation vaccination schedule.
Children aged 1-11 who are not up to date with their vaccinations are being offered polio and MMR catch-up vaccinations in school or at their registered GP surgeries. The NHS will be contacting the parents of children who are not fully vaccinated to sign a consent form for school-based vaccination.
Check your child’s red book or contact your GP to check your child’s vaccine status. If your child has missed one of their vaccinations, please contact your GP to book an appointment and get your child up to date. Read more about routine vaccinations here.
